Membership InformationJoin The Friends of the New York State Library! Become a member of The Friends and help raise support and awareness for one of New York's greatest historical resources. As a Friend you will join others like you who understand the importance of preserving institutions that promote New York's cultural heritage. All Friends members will receive:
Supporting Membership ($25-49)Eligible for all benefits listed above. Contributing Membership ($50-99) Eligible for all benefits listed above, plus:
Excelsior Membership ($100 or more) Eligible for all benefits listed above (enhanced access to the Library's resources for New York State residents only), plus:

Donations and GiftsNew York residents often wish to donate historical materials to the Library where they can be properly repaired, preserved, and displayed. For more information regarding donations please view the State Library's policy and procedures regarding gifts.

Volunteer OpportunitiesThere are many opportunities to volunteer for the State Library or help The Friends. The State Library currently employs volunteers in preservation, genealogy, and with technical maintenance. The Friends of the New York State Library are always seeking new members, especially those interested in serving on the Governing Board, or on one of the Friends' committees. The Friends currently maintain the following committees: Advocacy, Executive, Finance, Membership, Nominating, Program, and Public Information/Relations.
