Chapter 18 Part 18
Chapter 18 Part 18
"Look at you two, gauze over here and potion over there," Molly said. After both Sirius and Snape were injured, Mrs. Weasley, who had been sticking to the contact point of the Burrow, had to temporarily move to No. 12 Grimmauld Place, responsible for the daily "patient diet".After several days of recovery and recuperation, Sirius was finally allowed to get out of bed and walk around.
As soon as the dinner time came, everyone in the room became excited. As soon as the meeting ended, the main members of the Order of the Phoenix stayed for dinner. Sirius leaned against the wall and walked towards the dining table, and when he got to the table, everyone was already seated, and he saw that everyone deliberately left him a seat next to Snape. Sirius walked cautiously to the seat, and Snape looked up at him without any extraneous look.
"Sirius, would you like a drink?" Remus enthusiastically shook the bottle in his hand, which was approved by his old friend with a smile. "Sirius' injury is just a little better, don't drink too much." Tonks reminded kindly. "Don't worry, drinking will only make my wound heal faster." Sirius grinned.
"Of course, for an idiot who mixes wine with other people's pumpkin juice, of course drinking is his hobby." Snape muttered, although not loudly, but Sirius still doubted that the whole table heard. He smiled, tentatively placing a piece of sausage on Snape's plate. After Snape's perceptual memory was lost, he only had all the memories before the age of 16. Maybe it was because the memory was diluted and magnified, or for some other unknown reason, it seemed that this piece of perceptual memory became bigger in his mind It was clear before. So Snape remembered every "good thing" Sirius had done.
The situation bothered Sirius deeply at first, but Remus encouraged him to face it the way Snape had been after his second amnesiac. Also be careful not to be "over-enthusiasm" or it will deepen Snape's distaste. After a few days of adaptation, Sirius adjusted his emotions much faster than in the first few days.
"When did you say this happened?" Sirius asked calmly.
"Fourth year," Snape said, watching the slices of meat slide slowly from Sirius' fork onto his plate. "What are you doing?"
"Exchange meat for the trust of your companions."
"Then I have to say—"
"—that's what dogs usually do, Black." Sirius finished the sentence for Snape, then looked at him with a smile. Snape's eyes narrowed, he was obviously not used to Sirius seeming to know him well, and what made him even more annoyed was that Sirius did pick up what he was going to say, almost word for word. "You're wrong, Black, I didn't mean to say that." Snape glared at Sirius with his pure black eyes. "It probably means the same anyway." Sirius said confidently.
Snape's mind was racing, and he had to say something logical in front of everyone. However, when he thought that Sirius was right, it was difficult to make other words.
"Actually, I wanted to say," Snape said through gritted teeth, "thank you."
Sirius was a little taken aback, he had never heard Snape say the phrase "thank you", in fact, he couldn't imagine what it would sound like when Snape said it, Snape's rising and falling voice repeated over and over again in Sirius' mind, just like a piece of music.
With George telling a few jokes, the atmosphere at the dinner table gradually became lively. When it's pastry time, Molly stands up and distributes her special treat to everyone's plate.
"It's delicious," Tonks said, "but it seems like we've had it before. When is it?" She turned to her husband for help.
"When Abell died in 95, it was also baked by Molly. We all cried very sad that day." Remus sighed, everyone at the table nodded, and Tonks showed a look of sudden realization.
Sirius Black glanced at Snape out of the corner of his eye, and found that he kept his head down and kept silent, as if he was uncomfortable. Sirius' heart sank. He knew that Snape would never remember this incident. Due to memory loss, this conversation seemed to him like someone else's story.
Sirius unconsciously touched the hard object on the chest of his clothes lightly. Except for the time in Malfoy Manor, he carried Snape's memory with him at all times, and put it close to his chest pocket.
"I remember," Tonks said, picking up the second pastry Molly handed out, "that day—"
"Molly, your cakes are amazing. Cherry is my favorite!" Sirius said suddenly, his voice so loud that it overshadowed Tonks's words, interrupted the topic she wanted to continue, and said The exaggerated expression expressed his admiration to Mrs. Weasley.
Snape glanced at Sirius.
There was only one piece of pastry left on the plate when it was divided between Fred and George. "Strange, I obviously baked nine pieces." Molly looked at her two sons with the pastry in embarrassment. "Geroge, let Fred eat it, don't you like it?" Molly said and put the pastry on Fred's plate.
"Who said I don't like to eat it." George Weasley protested: "You are discriminating, Mom."
"It's normal." Sirius gave George a sympathetic look, "It's been like this in our family since we were young, my brother has what I have, and I don't necessarily have what my brother has." Sirius glanced at Black habitually The location where the portrait of the lady is located.
"Perhaps it's because your mother can't bear to see you wearing only a Gryffindor scarf," Snape said, and everyone around him fell silent, which was the first thing he said after dinner.
Sirius felt his cheeks burn. "Who told you this?" He already knew the answer after asking, and he cursed Regulus for being a little traitor in his heart. There is nothing more embarrassing than having a childhood embarrassment exposed at the dinner table, let alone this level of revelation. "Speaking of discrimination," Sirius turned to Snape, the seeds of Gryffindor's competitiveness and saving face uncontrollably sprouting in his heart. "You have no idea how good Professor Slughorn is at this."
"Oh? What's wrong with him?" Remus quickly answered, helping his old friend to divert the awkward topic.
"One time it was just me and Snape in the Potions classroom, and Slughorn came in and found his cauldron was cracked, so he came over with a big belly and asked us." Sirius wrinkled his face, imitating Slughorn: "'Severus, Did you touch my cauldron?' Snape said he didn't. He asked me again: 'Sirius, did you touch my cauldron?' I said I didn't, and he said, 'Why didn't you touch the cauldron? ’ As a result, I was fined a day in confinement.”
"There's such a thing?" Remus looked surprised.
"Perhaps you should explain why it was just the two of us in the potions room, Black," Snape reminded.
"It's nothing to do with the cauldron." Sirius' cheeks were a little hot, and he didn't want to mention the fact that he failed Potions twice in a row and Slughorn asked Snape to help him with tutoring. "I can understand the professor. The cauldron is his treasure. If I really broke his cauldron, he would only punish me for a day of confinement. But I really didn't touch it. Why did Snape believe it when he said he didn't touch the professor?" , I said I didn’t believe him if I didn’t touch him?” Sirius spread his hands, “I finally found out that it was James who did it.”
Remus laughed. "You must have punched that guy."
Sirius twitched the corner of his mouth, but didn't deny it, and at the same time felt that he had saved some face. "Anyway, Snape got the best out of Slughorn, and he gave Snape a bottle of Felicia."
"Why don't we know about this?" Remus asked, "We're in the same classroom."
"I gave it secretly when get out of class was over, as if to thank him for his help."
"That bottle of Felicia didn't do anything," Snape said.
"Really? You drank?" Sirius asked, his mood brightening, watching Snape chatting about things he still remembered made him unconsciously happy.
"I drank it right after my last exam at the end of fifth year, hoping my last day of fifth year went well," Snape said. "I think you should know exactly what happened after that day."
Sirius frowned and recalled, and suddenly let go after a moment, with a look of sudden realization. "I remember. But..."
"I'm full." Snape stood up, bowed, and turned to the "sanatorium" temporarily arranged for him at 12 Grimmauld Place. He ate all the food on his plate except what Sirius gave him. The piece of ham, lying in it intact.
"Since we've finished eating, everyone should go back and rest." Remus waved his wand, and the empty plates floated up.
"Okay," George said, looking at the empty tray of pastries. "At this point, I have to admit it." He said with a smirk, "I stole a piece from the beginning."
Remus was clearly not used to having someone suddenly appear in his room at two o'clock in the middle of the night, so when Sirius shook him awake, the sleeping werewolf was taken aback. He sat up abruptly, and grabbed the magic wand beside the bed. His experience in war allowed him to enter the fighting state at any time.
"It's me!" Sirius whispered.
"Sirius, what the hell are you doing." Remus lowered his wand. "It's a good thing Tonks isn't there, otherwise you might have died under her wand." After dinner, the house-elf from his parents' house suddenly appeared in the living room, and Tonks hurried home.
"I haven't been able to sleep, tell me, did the Felix Elixir fail?" Sirius sat down on the edge of the bed carelessly.
"Arguably not," Remus said. "Why are you still thinking about this?"
"Because what happened after Snape drank Felix Felicia has something to do with me, but—" Sirius paused, thinking for a moment. "Moony, I want to tell you, but I'm afraid you'll laugh at me."
"Don't worry, I'm not James." Remus joked, he had already put on his clothes, and waited for Sirius to speak further.
"Okay." Sirius said, "I was dating Geona at the time, and she was after me." Sirius deliberately added the last part of the sentence. "She accidentally left lipstick on my shirt one day, and Snape pointed it out in Great Hall, embarrassing me."
"I guess you didn't intend to end Severus well," Remus said with a smile.
A summer night at Hogwarts is indispensable for the chirping of insects. Even standing in the castle, as long as the window is opened a little, the rustling sound can be heard clearly. Sirius Black stood at the corner of the wall outside the library, whether it was because of the heat or nervousness, his forehead was slightly sweating.
The sound of footsteps came from far down the corridor, and the corners of Sirius' lips curled up inwardly. He was most familiar with the sound, and it didn't take him a second to figure out that it was Severus Snape—his target. Sirius listened carefully for a while, there was no one else, the footsteps were light and heavy, it sounded like the greasy guy was carrying a shoulder bag full of books. Sirius suppressed the desire to snigger, and put on a calm face.
"Hey, Snape." Sirius jumped out as soon as he came into view. The boy who was walking alone was startled by the sudden appearance, holding his wand tightly in his sleeve.
"Relax." Sirius held out ten fingers. "I don't have a wand."
"That doesn't mean you've changed your ways," Snape said.
"Snotlite, it's not very friendly for you to say that, at least I'm not secretly holding the wand in the sleeve." Sirius glanced at Snape's right hand hidden under the school robe.
Snape's expression was unnatural for a second, then changed back to resigned and contemptuous. He stuck his right hand out of the sleeve and put the wand inside back into his breast pocket. "What the hell are you trying to do?"
"As much as you disgraced me at breakfast today, I disgraced you when I punched you afterwards," Sirius said. "That's why I waited here to apologize to you."
Snape stared at Sirius for a while, feeling extremely suspicious. "I'm going back to the lounge."
Sirius was overjoyed, what he had been waiting for was Snape's words. "I'll take you home," he said. The two came out from the side of the castle one after the other, Sirius walked in front, and suddenly squatted down when passing the corner, Snape saw him take out an earmuff from the grass under the castle and put it on his head, tightly Then he held up a flower pot to him.
Snape realized something, he hurriedly covered his ears with both hands, but it was too late, Sirius raised his right hand, and the mandrake's scream reached his ears, Snape tried to stand still, but the world in front of him instantly changed Indistinctly, immediately after, he lost all consciousness and fell to the ground.
Sirius stuffed the mandrake back into the pot with difficulty, determined not to think about how to sneak it back to the greenhouse. He took off the earmuffs, put them back in the grass with the flower pot, turned around, picked up Snape on his back, and ran away quickly.
Sirius hadn't carried Snape on his back since they were put into detention together in second year. That time, he felt that Snape was unnaturally light, and this time was the same, even though he still carried Snape's schoolbag full of books on his shoulders, but Sirius It didn't feel too difficult either. He carried Snape to the back of the castle, where not even the moonlight could shine. Sirius lowered Snape to sit against the castle wall. The mandrake's screech was enough to stun a night, long enough for Sirius to carry out his plan.
He also wanted Snape to be laughed at for "fucking around with girls".
Sirius pulled out a hot pink lipstick from his pocket, which he had stolen from Geona. Sirius had never touched the thing, and it took him a while to unscrew the colored part. Sirius approached Snape warily, drawing a lip shape awkwardly across his face with lipstick.
"Lumos." Sirius lighted his wand, carefully observing his masterpiece.Only at this time did he realize that his thinking was too simple. The lips he painted were nothing like that, and it looked like someone else had painted them with lipstick. Sirius did a few more "practices" on Snape's face, and found that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't draw a lip print that could be mistaken for the real one.
Sirius flicked his wand angrily and released the Cleansing Charm, sweeping the messy lipstick stain off Snape's face.He held up his wand somewhat ruefully, the light of which fell on Snape's face. The sleepy teenager loosened his brows, a few locks of black hair casually resting on his face. The color of Lumos was so close to moonlight that it made every hair on Snape's already pale face visible.
Sirius looked at Snape, and the chaos in his mind suddenly quieted down, and Snape's face became the only scenery in his mind.In this unknown corner, the distant mountains, castles, the Milky Way, the seemingly invisible summer wind, and the secret throbbing mermaid in the black lake are all watching them silently, watching the soft light of Lumos illuminating both of them. The boy's face became the only color in this boundless darkness.
After a while, Sirius seemed to come back to his senses. He looked down at the lipstick in his hand, and an obsessive idea appeared in his mind. However, he had already done so before his reason appeared—Sirius put the lipstick on indiscriminately. Apply it to his own mouth, then, slowly move closer to Snape's face.
The next second, his lips were pressed against Snape's cold cheek, and for an instant, something seemed to explode in his chest, the crazy heartbeat bombarded his chest like thunder, and the chattering insects suddenly burst from his ears disappeared.Time froze, and Sirius's world seemed to have been completely wiped out by a dementor, leaving only his own heartbeat and the temperature on his lips.
He raised his head, staring intently at the real lip print on Snape's face. "Nox." The only light went out suddenly, and Sirius gently pressed his lips to Snape's other cheek, "You are crazy!" Sirius heard his own voice coming out of his head, but he seemed to lose control of himself With power, his mouth moved across Snape's cheeks, forehead and neck, leaving traces of pink.
Sirus felt short of breath, in fact he felt so tense that he couldn't take a breath. He felt like he was going to die by relying on Snape any second. The face of the black-haired boy, his closed eyes, his mouth... everything was rushing back and forth in his mind like a nightmare.Relying on his handsome appearance and smile, Sirius has already conquered the hearts of countless girls, but he has never been like this, covering anyone's skin with his lips in a bewildered and chaotic manner. The grass slowly undulates up and down, holding up the weak light of fireflies one after another. Sirius Black's hand gently supported his enemy's body. The young, ignorant and carefree boy couldn't explain his behavior, but felt that the blood all over his body was rushing to the top of his head.
A gust of wind blew, and Sirius sat up straight as if suddenly waking up from a dream. The stars in the dark sky seemed to twinkle faster, and the sound of insects distracted him like chaotic drumbeats. He wiped his mouth in a panic and found that his hands were shaking slightly.
Sirius forgot how he carried Snape back to the Slytherin tower, his mind was buzzing, there were several portraits talking to him along the way, and he only heard a few words sporadically, probably "Gryffindor", "sick Sirius didn't reply, just moved his legs mechanically.
Sirius placed Snape where he had originally planned: at the corner of the stairs at the entrance to the Slytherin lounge. The hallway lights reflected a fake lip print on Snape's face - or, more accurately, a "real fake" lip print. Sirius hurriedly took Snape's schoolbag off his shoulder, spilling the contents in a panic. It was a book and an envelope. Sirius opened the envelope, and there was a piece of paper inside, which seemed to be a label torn from a wine bottle. On the back were written two lines of small words:
Severus, the letter has been received, and everything is fine with Mom.Your father is sick, and he has to rest at home during your summer vacation. Will you go home during summer vacation?
mother
Sirius packed the envelope and put it back in Snape's schoolbag. He stared at Snape's face for a while and thought about it, and his mood suddenly changed subtly. After a moment, he sighed heavily, then flicked his wand impatiently, wiping all traces of lipstick off Snape's face, then turned, and ran as fast as he could towards Gryffindor's tower.
The scream of the mandrake is a lesson. Sirius comforted himself in his heart as he ran.
It took Sirius a lot of effort to fall asleep that night, and when he closed his eyes, he felt that what happened tonight was like a dream, but his rapid heartbeat reminded him that it was all real.
When the morning came, Sirius felt a warm current between his legs when he was half asleep, and he rolled out of bed cursing, ushering in the last day of fifth grade in a hurry.
"Have you ever done such a thing?" The werewolf had an indescribable expression on his face. "It's imaginative enough."
"Didn't you say you won't laugh at me?" Sirius was a little annoyed.
"Just kidding." Remus smiled and patted Sirius on the shoulder.
"I'll teach you a lesson when the war is over." Sirius moved his body closer. "I remember it very well. It was the last final exam, History of Magic. We took the Hogwarts Express back the next day. Snape said he drank Felix the afternoon he finished History of Magic, and I told What you're talking about happened that night."
"In other words, what Snape said at the dinner table meant..."
"All he knew was that he'd run into me after drinking Felicia, passed out from screaming mandrakes, and woke up the next morning around the corner of the stairs in the Slytherin common room. The rest he didn't know have no idea."
"That's why he said Felicia Felix didn't do anything," Remus murmured. "Accordingly, drinking Felicia must have an effect. Could it be that in his heart—" Remus Lupine raised his eyes, meeting Sirius' eyes.
"Impossible," Sirius said. "Everything is possible, but this is impossible. You know what kind of relationship we had when we were in school."
"what relationship?"
"The enemy."
"Then you still kiss him." Remus smiled.
"I didn't kiss him! I just did it for the lip print." Sirius stood up angrily. "I knew I wouldn't tell you this."
"Padfood, tell the truth, when you met Severus' face, didn't you feel anything else?"
"No." Sirius pretended to be angry and walked out of the werewolf's bedroom, leaving him sitting on the bed alone with a faint smile on his face.
