Chapter 165: Face the storm if you dare strike!
Clearly, these four assassins were no match for Coniso.
In less than five seconds, Coniso had closed the distance to the car. He quickly extracted Everick from the vehicle.
The two fugitives weren’t spared either. They were unceremoniously dumped at the roadside.
“Stay sharp, Wang Yun is definitely nearby,” Everick warned, his gaze sweeping the area with vigilant eyes. He had a strong premonition that Wang Yun was watching them from somewhere. Unfortunately, their plan had failed.
“Damn it!” Everick muttered bitterly.
“Surrender now!” Coniso urged, giving Everick a nod while his eyes shifted toward the front of the car.
The four assassins, gasping for breath, appeared visibly tense. However, their eyes betrayed a resolve to face death rather than capitulate.

“Surrender? What right does a dead man have to negotiate with my men?”
At this time, Wang Yun had already moved to a position in the opposite industrial area. His exceptional hearing allowed him to pick up every word from Coniso. He effortlessly pulled out his sniper rifle with his right hand.
He was going to snipe from the ground first. Then, he would finish with the submachine gun.
Boom!
A single shot. The bullet tore through the air, its fierce compression creating a sharp whistling sound.
As the sound echoed, Everick instinctively looked over.
What he saw next was like a scene from a nightmare. The distant air appeared as if cleaved in two by an invisible blade. Like a hellish reaper of souls, it opened its gaping maw and charged forward with a voracious snarl.
“Dodge!” Everick screamed.
But his warning came too late. Unaware, one of his men suddenly heard a beeping on his shoulder. Immediately afterward, he collapsed to the ground.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
One after another—second and third—fell in quick succession.
“Cover! Behind the stone pillar at seven o’clock,” Everick commanded. “Spread out, don’t bunch up. Return fire, now!”
In desperation, Everick shoved his nearby comrades aside, his voice raw as he roared his commands.
Boom!
“Coniso!”
Yet, everything unfolded too quickly. Wang Yun’s actions perpetually caught them unprepared.
Coniso was hit. The incessant beeping from his shoulder struck deep, resonating like a heavy iron stake driven into the hearts of all who heard it.
This man was Everick’s most capable operative. With a thunderous bang, he fell straight to the ground.
“Another one.” Wang Yun fired again.
The barrage scattered the program inspectors from the United States team all around. In that instant, all the inspectors became live targets.
The four assassins, initially hiding at the front of the car, seized the moment to act.
“Hahaha, what a thrill. It’s been a while since I’ve had this much fun,” Wang Yun exclaimed. “Don’t run, fight back.”
***
“Ah, I’ve been shot in the arm, I can’t fight! You take over!”
The four assassins grew reckless. Amid their overly fervent rampage, one assassin, boldly sticking his body out to unleash havoc, got shot in the arm by an inspector.
This incident swiftly sobered up the other three assassins. They suddenly became more serious.
The morale of the United States team forces was in disarray. Once the morale was disrupted, they faced nothing but total collapse. A complete and utter breakdown.
In just forty-seven seconds, what had been a quiet street was now littered with bodies. Every face bore the same expression: despair.
They fell into the trap over and over again.
In this trap, they were nothing more than lambs led to slaughter by the hunters, unable to even scream in resistance. Each one was filled with resentment. They were not weak. In fact, they were very strong. Yet, even the strongest faltered in the face of a monster.
They hated that they were left without any room to fight back.
Ahead, there were tire-puncture traps laid out. In the middle, experienced assassins disguised as passersby. And behind, a formidable boss personally ensuring no loose ends. The entire scenario was meticulously orchestrated.
The planning was flawless.
How could they possibly mount a counterattack?
They were utterly defeated.
In just one minute, thirty United States program inspectors were ‘dead’. Coniso and Everick had brought their best—the elite of the elite. Yet it wasn’t enough.
At this moment, only Everick, madly sprinting down the road, and one survivor trying to escape into the distance remained.
“This is boring, let’s face the storm.”
Wang Yun watched as nearly everyone was wiped out and muttered to himself in disbelief.
Then, he stood up, exposing his entire body from behind the cover of the rocks. He knew that even if Everick wanted to shoot him, it was virtually impossible at the moment.
Everick was in the midst of a frantic run. No one could accurately fire while sprinting. The gun’s recoil alone made it impossible to maintain stability while moving. Besides, even if Everick decided to aim, it would take him between 1.5 to 3 seconds to prepare.
