Chapter 621 - 620: I Wouldn’t Exactly Call It...
Ivankov covered his mouth with his hands, holding his breath. He plunged his sharp, needle-like fingernails into the sides of his neck. "Excitement Hormones!"Bursting with power, Ivankov bolted toward the exit for Level 4. In this situation, he couldn’t push deeper into Level 6. He had to leave this gas-filled death trap first; even with his medical expertise, dealing with Magellan’s poison wasn’t easy.
Furthermore, while Magellan was fighting Alucard, he was definitely guarding the path to Level 6. If Ivankov moved rashly, he’d likely be caught in the crossfire of the two monsters. He wasn’t stupid enough to walk into that.
"Good. Ivankov didn’t head for Level 6. Now I can focus entirely on the Immortal." Magellan’s nerves relaxed slightly, only to tighten again instantly.
Alucard fired several shots. Magellan, not being a Logia user, hurriedly manipulated his Hydras to intercept the bullets. The lead shattered the dragon heads, but they reformed within two seconds.
Crack-crackle!
The pool of blood at Alucard’s feet suddenly arced into a jagged lightning shape. Though Alucard possessed the powers of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, his finesse wasn’t as polished as Enel’s. However, by channeling the blood pool this way, both his speed and explosive power far surpassed Enel’s lightning.
The distorted blood surged forward like a viper. Magellan thought, Too fast! He projected a massive venom tunnel from his body to move, but the lightning-shaped blood caught up even faster.
BANG!
The black gun, Jackal, fired, severing the venom tunnel in front of Magellan and pinning him in place. The blood-lightning reached him from behind, transforming into sharp blades that pierced Magellan’s skin.
"Kukk!"
Wracked with pain, Magellan stumbled in mid-air. He barely caught himself with a Hydra to avoid exposing a fatal opening.
"My duty is to ensure the execution proceeds!" Magellan roared. Venom erupted from his body, forming a skeletal giant behind him. Within seconds, the purple poison turned a deep, bruised crimson.
Venom Demon: Hell’s Judgment!
"Oh?" Alucard looked at the titan. "Resorting to your ultimate move so soon?"
Just as Alucard expected an attack, Magellan spun around violently. The Venom Demon mirrored his movement.
He was facing the direction where Saldeath had just left.
"RAAAAHH!!" Magellan poured his strength into the move. The Venom Demon swung its right hand; much like Luffy’s rubber powers, its arm stretched across the frozen forest and snow, smashing into a wall. To an untrained eye, the wall looked solid, but the strike shattered a cleverly camouflaged hidden door.
"Blocking me from entering?" Alucard realized Magellan’s plan. The Warden knew from the start he couldn’t win. Rather than wasting his strength on a futile fight, he chose to destroy the path to Level 6, preventing both Alucard and Straw Hat Luffy from entering.
"A wise judgment. But... a bit boring, don’t you think?" Alucard acknowledged the tactic, but noted that Magellan’s aura began to wane after such a massive exertion.
I must at least uncover more of your body’s secrets! Magellan thought, commanding the Venom Demon to strike.
Alucard stood his ground, letting the massive hand of the poison giant slam into him. The impact sent snow flying, but the toxins instantly turned the air purple.
"What?" Magellan felt a strange sensation under the giant’s hand. A split second later, a monstrous claw erupted from the ground. Compared to the poison giant, it was the difference between a human and a toy. The claw twisted the Venom Demon into the air and slammed it back down.
Magellan was stunned, but seeing Alucard unscathed, he knew he didn’t even have time to be shocked. He merged his body with the Venom Demon to regain control.
"Too late."
Amidst the fluttering of bats, Alucard appeared directly in front of Magellan, his lower half having dissolved into a swarm. A bronze spear solidified in Alucard’s hand. As he thrust his palm forward, he whispered:
"Kazikli-Bey: The Blood-Stained Lord!"
Countless stakes erupted from the ground and sky, impaling Magellan’s body.
A moment later, Alucard stood with his back to Magellan, who was pinned like a figure on a crucifix. Alucard scoffed, "I told you I was just taking a stroll. Why won’t anyone listen?"
Walking to the exit ,now completely coated in Magellan’s venom, Alucard didn’t hesitate. He turned into a shadow and phased straight through the wall.
"Still pointless in the end..."
...
In Level 6.
Seeing a group of jailers rush into the cell to take Ace away, Jinbe couldn’t help but ask, "Hey! What’s the hurry? There should still be time before the execution!"
Saldeath glanced at Jinbe but didn’t answer. He ordered the jailers to move Ace.
The other prisoners in Level 6 began to jeer, hoping for chaos.
"Hey! Who’s invading upstairs?"
"Why take Fire Fist early? Did they break through? Are you being forced to move him?"
"Hahaha! The ’Iron Wall’ of Impel Down isn’t so tough after all!"
Saldeath trembled with rage but lacked the words to strike back. Normally, only Warden Magellan could suppress these bastards.
"Do losing dogs have the right to mock others?" Alucard stepped into Level 6, addressing the loud-mouthed failures.
"You!" Saldeath and the guards were horrified. Even against a Yonko, surely the Warden couldn’t have fallen this quickly?
"The... the Warden! What happened to him?" Saldeath asked, his voice shaking.
"Him?" Alucard recalled the sight of Magellan impaled by the Impaling Castle. After a pause, he looked back askance. "I wouldn’t exactly call him... ’safe’ and ’sound.’"
