Chapter 823 Under The Starry Skies [Part 1]

"Finally, we're out!" Derek shouted.

"Oi, are you stupid?!" Mildred smacked the back of the Swordsman's head. "Why are you shouting? Do you want to lure monsters into our location?!"

"What's there to fear? As long as we have Rocky, we won't lose!" Derek replied as he looked at the Magma Bal-Boa, who was busy making temporary caves inside the mountain, so everyone would have lodging for the day.

Thirteen decided to let everyone out to get some fresh air since they were almost at their destination.

In fact, they could already see the temple on top of the mountain, and if Rocky wished for it, they would arrive at their destination in half an hour.

However, he didn't do that due to Shana's request.

Since she would not be seeing her friends for more than a year, she decided to delay entering the temple for a day.

No one opposed her proposal, and they were even happy that she had taken the initiative to say it.

"I want to eat stew today." Derek pressed his hands together while looking at Diana and Mildred. "Please, beautiful ladies, won't you grant this wish of mine?"

"Fine," Mildred, who had been the cook during their journey, agreed to the Swordsman's request. "You will peel the potatoes and cut the meat okay?"

"Yes, Sir!" Derek saluted and went to work.

Thirteen, who was still seated in his wheelchair, remained idle as everyone busied themselves.

The teenagers they rescued from the Slave Traders were no longer shy around the members of the Hero Party and were now very comfortable talking to them.

However, they were still afraid to approach Zion. In their eyes, he was the last one they could provoke no matter what.

Raja, on the other hand, followed behind Shana like a duckling following their parent duck.

The White-Furred Elephant had already formed a Spirit Beast Contract with Shana, which was exclusive to creatures that specialized in Life, Light, and Divine Magic.

Of course, the one whom they should form a contract with must also be compatible with them to make it work.

Since Shana was the Saintess, the contract between her and Raja proceeded very smoothly.

"Zion! There's a hot spring in this mountain!" Erica, who was scouting the surroundings from the sky, landed excitedly beside the teenage boy. "Let's go there tonight, okay?"

"You should go there with the girls instead," Thirteen replied. "You won't be seeing them for a while, so this is the last time you'll be hanging out with them."

"Eh, but I want to go there with you," Erica pouted. "I'm sure it will be amazing. Soaking in the hot springs while looking at the starry sky."

Unlike Pangea, the night sky of Solterra was truly beautiful to behold.

"We can always stay a day longer if you want after Shana and Diana enter the Temple," Thirteen insisted. "There will be plenty of opportunities, okay?"

"Fine." Erica, who agreed with Zion's statement, decided to have some girl's talk with the others later tonight.

"So beautiful," Diana couldn't help but admire the perfect location of the hot spring, making it a fantastic place to soak their tired bodies while looking at the starry skies.

"Where is Shana?" Mildred asked as she removed her clothes. "Is she not coming?"

"She said she would come later," Erica replied, dropping her last piece of clothing in the basket where her other clothes were placed.

Mildred and Diana looked at the Sorceress' drop-dead gorgeous body before looking at their own.

Although their well-trained bodies were beautiful as well, the Sorceress's sexiness was above their own by a few levels.

Sherry, the youngest of them all, looked at the chests of the ladies around her before looking at her own.

A sigh escaped her lips as she soaked her body in the spring, leaving only her neck up on the surface.

"Don't worry. You still have a lot of room for growth," Erica, who understood what Sherry was feeling, hugged the younger girl from behind. She then whispered in Sherry's ear, making sure that only the younger girl could hear what she was going to say. "Don't worry, I'll ask Zion to massage your chest to make it bigger," Erica whispered. A blush appeared on Sherry's face as she shyly nodded, making Erica hug her due to how adorable she was.

Meanwhile, back at the camp, Shana sat beside Zion on a log and looked at the starry skies with him.

"Aren't you going to join them in the hot springs?" Thirteen asked. "No," Shana replied. "I'm sure Erica will start groping my chest if I'm there with her. She always does that when we take a bath together."

"I can see that happening." Thirteen smiled faintly before throwing a piece of wood on the campfire, making sure that the flames would not die anytime soon. "Shana, do you believe in Fate?"

"I don't know," Shana replied. "How about you?"

"Fate exists," Thirteen replied. "Because many believe in her."

"Her?" Shana arched an eyebrow. "Yes." Thirteen nodded. "The Goddess of Fate that holds the multiverse in the palm of her hands."

Shana could sense the bitterness, and anger in Zion's voice as he talked about Fate.

"Zion, can you tell me more about you?" Shana asked. "There's nothing interesting about me," Thirteen replied. "But if you want to hear a story, I can tell you one. Do you want to listen to it?"

"Yes," Shana replied. "I'd love to."

Thirteen looked up in the sky, and a faint smile appeared on his face.

"I will tell you the story about the Monkey King, Sun Wukong," Thirteen said. "A long long time ago, when the world was still young..."

High above the heavens, Sun Wukong poured some wine into his cup and watched as Thirteen told the story of his life.

Ever since the teenage boy was reborn in Pangea, the Monkey King had been watching him from the Celestial Realm.

He didn't know why the System God did what he did to his son. However, Sun Wukong didn't care about any of that.

All he wished was for his friend to find happiness in his life.

'That's my boy.' The Monkey King raised his wine cup and offered a toast for his friend, Thirteen. Suddenly, a thought passed through his head, making him laugh loudly.

Looking at his surroundings to make sure that no one was watching, the Monkey King flicked his gourd of wine toward Solterra. Now that a perfect opportunity had come to play wingman, The Great Sage, Equals Heaven, decided to help his dear friend and make him speak the words that truly came from his heart.
