Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 273: Mundane Activities

Chapter 273: Mundane Activities

One of Nephron’s key precautions when leaving Griffin’s Peak was to buy himself time. He knew things would go south, so he decided to heavily damage the peak.

With the help of his close friend, Black Wing, and other contacts in Griffin City, Nephron managed to create a plan to strip the Golden Tower of its defense formation. This formation had stood for so long that even Ziaman didn’t know who had placed it there.

It was a clan treasure.

But somehow, Nephron discovered its secrets and had Black Wing and his friends steal it during the chaos. Unfortunately, just as they were executing this plan, a member of the Underwood Alliance had the audacity to oppose them.

Quvera

She mobilized the tower’s elders and launched an attack on Black Wing. Their goal was to delay him long enough for thane to wake up so he could handle the traitors. However, Black Wing was as slippery as Nephron. The moment he felt the upper hand slipping from them, he bailed—but not without taking Quvera with him.

He essentially kidnapped the poor girl.

"Heh, these old men are more than they seem," Leon muttered outside the guardhouse, watching Nephron’s figure slowly disappear into the crowd.

Apparently, the likes of Malphas and a few other powerful figures were merely clones of Nephron—or at least something similar. And Nephron never bothered to explain it to even him. All he said was that it was "Destiny."

Clearly, Nephron and Black Wing had laid down layers of plans a very long time ago, plans that Leon was now entangled in. Forget the incident with Quvera—

the thought of being caught up in Nephron’s schemes gave Leon chills. Staying in BloodRock City was looking less and less appealing by the day.

"Wolf One," Leon called out.

From the corner of the building, a white smoke began to condense, slowly emulating the shape of a man whilst staying in the shadows of the alleyway.

"Secure this place. I’m going for a walk," Leon said calmly, sighing as he walked away.

After a few hours wandering through the markets of BloodRock City, Liana finally understood why Arian had stayed behind.

Ember was obsessed with buying things. For example, what did a woman of her size and stature need with a massive suit of berserker armor? Liana had clearly fallen into a trap and would probably soon fall into a hole of dept.

"Sigh," Liana exhaled deeply, looking up at the sky.

’Where are you?’ she thought. It had been three months since she’d last seen Gunta. He had appeared briefly after the incident at griffins peak to tell her he’d be helping Leon train some men, but after that, he’d vanished from BloodRock City altogether.

"Hey, check this one out. It’ll look great on you," Ember’s voice snapped her from her thoughts. Ember was holding up a purple dress, draping it over Liana’s shoulders.

"Oh, really?" Liana smiled wearily, pulling out her purse from her clothes to pay for yet another item she would likely never use.

Yes, She was the one paying, after all—Leon was still technically part of her clan back in Eldoria, so anyone related to him was like family to her.

Meanwhile, Leon appeared before a tall tower inside the Blood Serpent Clan’s territory. His robes were dusted from a long walk, showing that he had traveled there on foot.

"Boss!"

A guard approached him as soon as he stepped into the outskirts of the tower.

"Hm," Leon nodded. This was his place in the clan now. As a direct disciple, he could commandeer any unoccupied land within the clan’s territory.

"Tell the captain in charge of this legion to prepare. We’re leaving in three days," Leon said calmly, then turned to leave just as swiftly as he had arrived.

They had always planned to participate in the war for the Undergod Territory. It was just a matter of time.@@@@
