Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 167: Secrets

Chapter 167: Secrets

A day later, and Leon could be seen roaming around the second level of the library looking through various books and materials seemingly searching for something.

"HMM, pretender" the scrawny old man commented..Leon’s inability to read Galrush was a dead giveaway that Leon didn’t know what he was doing. So it really pissed him off to see Leon walk around the second level with such purpose.

Even he had been here for weeks and didn’t have a single breakthrough in poem on the wall, talk less of Leon who was a nobody.

"This is the one"

Meanwhile, Leon didn’t seem to care about the old man’s gaze and snide murmurs. He walked around the library picking up books and reading them without a care in the world.

The poem was closely related to the path of negative energy manipulation. Leon didn’t need much time to crack it. In fact he cracked it a day ago. However, he want To give some space between him seeing the tab and getting the answer so as not to look suspicious to the level 5 existence looking down at him.

After all, negative energy was still considered a taboo in finor world, one worse than even soul energy. It was a path that was littered with corpses and evil, in fact, it wasn’t fully understood. But just the few that was understood really put alot of people off.

"Ahhh" as Leon nodded and pretended to understand a thing or two, at the same time Arian and the rest were dying of boredom at the top level.

"It’s been two days, when will he come out so we can leave?" Ben Yoel complained on one of the library’s tables.

His men were not very far away from the dukedoms territory, so there was a minute chance that the battles might spread and catch them where they were stationed.

This was a bad outcome, he didn’t want anything to happen to his men while he stayed here in some library, he wanted to get them all out of here as soon as possible. But Leon was busy reading his brains away like a little nerd.

"I don’t know, read a Book or something" Ember responded coldly while being entrailed by a book In her hand.

It was titled saints of Antiquity. Unlike all the books here, this one wasn’t boring, it spoke about the adventures of hero’s of the old days and their feats.

She was busy with her Book and didn’t want any disturbance from this Yoel guy.

—bam

While this interaction was happening, the sound of a door being slammed resounded as about 4 armed guards made their way into the library and up a flight of stairs.

"Hmmm" this was another reason why Ben hated this situation. The library felt like an enclosed space, they couldn’t even tell what was going on In the outside world. For all he knew the fight might have already begun and they were in the middle of a boiling battlefield.

"Just be patient, he will be back soon" Arian walked past the table and said causally. She then walked to a shelf right next to stair case.

"Sire, the first fortress has fallen. They are advancing incredibly fast." One of the guards whom had previously made their way into the library reported and it echoed down the hallow stair case.

"What about the Duke? Did his sneak attack work?" Another voice sounded.

"Yes, it was a success and we were able to verify that ’he’ is present"

"Good, now.....let them prepare for battle"

The battle lines had officially been drawn, what remained was action and very soon that too would be executed.

The dukedom was about to descend into absolute chaos.

"Hmm" with a smile on his face Leon turned to the old scrawny man who was flying at full speed towards him.

He was too late, before they could reach Leon was drawn into the gate and it closed up behind him.

—Boom!!!

—Boom!!

—Boom

Each and every one of them flew head first Into Stone slab head first and hit the indestructible stone slab.

"Hahahaha," at the top of the library where the level 5 existence sat, a hysterical laugh resounded.

There the blad old man with the third eye could be seen laughing his ass out. These old foggies had been In the second level for months pending the war, but they were outshone by someone who arrive just yesterday and now they were pissed.

There was nothing funnier to him than a scenario like this. He had seemingly forgotten the whole situation of the Dukedom being attacked at this moment.

Meanwhile,

Leon appeared in the third level with a grin on his face. He was quite lucky to get here without much work and had the chance to faceslap some old foggies.

But now it was time for him to continue with why he was here. However he still had to look around

The environment dark, so much more than the second floor and Leon could barely seen even his own hands.

"Here,"

While he stood, Leon recieved a flame that burned with a strange yellow light in his left hand.

"What’s this?" Leon asked. Bit recieved no answer. It seemed like he was the only one here, but was that truly the case?

After a brief moment of contemplation, he eventually decided to just look around. With this flame at least he could see what was directly infront of him.

And what he discovered upon doing that was quite intriguing. There were people here!!!

But just like him they couldn’t see anything apart from what was infront of them. However just like the second floor none of these guys were interested in speaking to Leon or anyone else for that matter.

"Let’s check out the books" Leon soon grew tired of looking around and decided to look at the books before him.

That’s when he heard the voice again.

"You can pick up a total of 3 books a day and that’s all. If you pick up more then you will be kicked out permanently."

Leon had no idea, but the books on the third level were ancient books of old. Not just ones tracing to the antiquity era.

Because even in the antiquity Era, there were still alot of secrets hidden away from the masses and scholars.

These books contain those secret.
