Chapter 24 Swarming
Chapter 24 Swarming
As dawn broke, the unfamiliar servant calmly escorted Vijay out of the temple district, not through the gate he had entered through, but to the other side of the main gate.
There were several guards standing ramrod straight in their bright and shiny armor.
But it seems to be just for show, lacking any sense of violence or intimidation.
Standing in the square in front of the gate, Vijay looked back with a sense of loss.
The servant remained silent throughout, not giving himself another chance to see the Brahma priest or Devadashi.
Vijay sighed deeply, turned around, and prepared to walk back to the Royal Hotel to wait for news from Bim.
After all, it had been a whole day. If Bim hadn't been slacking off, he should have already finished everything he had planned out.
He had only taken a few steps when Vijay stopped, because he saw an unexpected person standing there.
"Dasa!"
Vijay clenched his fist involuntarily.
But Dasa's expression didn't seem very pleasant either, and he strode over after seeing Vijay.
"Mittal Vijay, my master sent me to ask you," he paused, as if he found it difficult to say what was to come.
There's no deep-seated hatred between us!
Additional investment is coming!
Before Sada could even speak, Vijay had already guessed the reason for his awkwardness from his expression.
It must be because Roshman saw that he had been kept overnight in the temple district by the Brahmins, and that Bim had been meeting with merchants in large numbers and spending money to buy top-quality goods, that he concluded that Roshman must really be ready to set off.
To boost his confidence and increase his investment, he decided to donate generously without hesitation.
Thinking of this, Vijay's expression became somewhat interested. Witnessing the surrender of a former enemy was quite an interesting thing!
Having already defeated his physical body, now it's time to let him crush his last shred of dignity...
What kind of help do you need?
That's about it...
Hearing Dasa utter words that implied surrender didn't stir any emotion in him.
"That's probably not what the esteemed Lord Roshman originally said!" Vijay chuckled casually.
A simple sentence made Dasa jump up as if a needle had been used to prick his sore spot, his face turning red.
"Brahma above, don't get excited!" Vijay rarely found himself toying with others, but he was quickly brought back to reality by the problem at hand.
What kind of help do I need most right now?
Vijay fell into deep thought.
If I had to make a wish that's all-powerful, my top priority would be for Roshman to stop bothering me!
Secondly, I needed to gather information about the trade routes to the East...
Of course, the above two points are pure fantasy!
And after that, if I had to say something, it would be: "Humans!"
Vijay straightened his expression. "I need a lot of people! All kinds of people!"
"Caravan guards, itinerant merchants traveling far and wide, doctors skilled in herbal medicine, and all sorts of extraordinary individuals who can enhance the caravan's survival capabilities!"
After a pause, Vijay suddenly realized that this seemed like a good opportunity to make exorbitant demands. What he needed might be nothing more than dust in the eyes of the noble Kshatriyas.
"I still need servants; my territory needs manpower to ensure it continues to prosper after I leave!"
Vijay didn't know where Kshatriya's bottom line was, nor was he willing to try to cross it, so he only made his request without specifying the quantity, leaving it to see how generous Kshatriya could be!
After hearing Vijay's request, Sada made no comment; her absolute obedience to her master's orders outweighed the anger Vijay felt at her slight provocation.
Forcibly suppressing her anger, Sada said coldly, "I will report your demands to my master!"
"May Shiva protect you!" Vijay nodded, magnanimously watching Sadah depart.
Having achieved all his objectives in this trip to the city, Vijay felt it was time to go home!
He was already longing for Maya's craftsmanship and her gentle embrace.
Vijay walked briskly and soon returned to the entrance of the Royal Lodge.
The Royal Hotel seems to be bustling with activity today.
The open space in front of the gate was filled with oxcarts, and various Shudras, who were obviously servants, gathered there, chatting in a quiet atmosphere.
Moreover, the Royal Hotel would never have allowed so many cars to block traffic in their plaza and spoil the mood of their esteemed guests.
This doesn't make sense!
What happened?
Vijay strangely reached the inn's door through the only path left in the carriage.
The waiter at the door was nowhere to be found, which seemed somewhat impolite, and there was a faint commotion inside the hotel.
He took two steps forward and went around the doorway, and a cacophony of noise immediately rushed into his ears.
Curious, I took a few more steps forward and saw that the space in front of the empty fountain was full of people, all talking at once, seemingly surrounding a central point.
The number of people was so large that they were standing on the surrounding corridors.
The inn's waiters were bustling around carrying various plates, seemingly afraid to neglect the guests.
Vijay took a closer look, and wow!
The customers standing there were almost all wealthy merchants of noble status... This could be seen from their gold and silver attire and their affluent demeanor.
With such a large number, it seems that all the high-end businessmen in the city have come here.
What's the reason?
Vijay suddenly realized that only profit could move a businessman.
So where does the greatest benefit lie now in the city of Harappa?
Here it is, in Mittal Vijay!
Sure enough, Vijay had already spotted old Bim in the center of the crowd.
The poor old servant was so jostled that he could barely stand. All around him was a constant stream of arguments like flies, and violent physical tugging. He was filled with helplessness and dared not speak out against his anger.
Perhaps it was a telepathic connection between master and servant, but the moment Vijay saw Bim, Bim also saw Vijay approaching leisurely.
"Shiva, Master! You've finally returned! Please save poor Bim!"
Vijay only heard a "whoosh!" sound, and then hundreds of heads with eager eyes turned to look at him.
For a moment, Vijay felt a chill.
These guys were about to surround him, making him end up like Bim...
Vijay had no way to avoid it!
In that critical moment, he caught a glimpse of a raised relief sculpture in the corridor beside him, and with a swift movement, he leaped over before being completely surrounded.
He grabbed the relief sculpture with one hand and pulled it up forcefully, using the momentum to take off, spinning 360 degrees in the air, and then grabbed the railing of the second-floor corridor.
"Everyone! Listen to me!" Seeing that the commotion he had caused was about to spread to the second floor, Vijay held his breath and roared loudly.
