Chapter 109 Cow Cat: I Admire You
Chapter 109 Cow Cat: I Admire You
After a short rest, feeling the enhanced effects of the rewards, the four turned and left the space that had once been filled with maniacal laughter and revelry, now eerily silent.
When they stepped back onto the ground floor of the teaching building, they found that all the "Laughing Nightmares" that had been floating and wandering in the corridor had disappeared without a trace, as if they had vanished along with the "Lord of Laughter".
The previously stagnant and cold air returned to normal; although it was still dilapidated, it no longer carried that deep-seated malice.
Stepping out of the teaching building and breathing in the relatively fresh air, while looking at the faint light of dawn on the distant horizon, the four of them felt as if they had been transported to another world.
"Finally, we're out of this hellhole!" Vassim let out a long sigh of relief, stretched his limbs, feeling the changes brought about by the [Resilient Physique], and then looked at Lin Feng:
"Brother Lin Feng, the school gate should be over there." He pointed in the direction of the school's main gate.
Lin Feng shook his head, his gaze sweeping across the quiet campus, finally settling on the direction of the faculty and staff dormitories:
"You guys go ahead, I have some things to take care of."
Wasim was taken aback for a moment, then gave a knowing smile and winked.
"Understood, understood!"
As he spoke, Wasim gave Lin Feng a tight hug and said sincerely:
"Take care, brother. It's been an honor to fight alongside you. I look forward to fighting side by side again!"
"Take care, Vassim." Lin Feng patted Vassim on the back and replied solemnly.
Evelyn stepped forward, nodded to Lin Feng, and said succinctly, "Until we meet again."
"Thank you... and take care," Anna said softly, her face filled with sincere blessings.
"Take care, everyone," Lin Feng replied with a smile.
After saying goodbye to each other, Vassim, Evelyn, and Anna did not linger. They turned and walked towards the dog hole, their figures quickly disappearing into the morning mist.
Lin Feng looked in the direction they left, feeling a mix of emotions.
The orange cat on my shoulder lazily flicked its tail, conveying a playful thought:
"Tsk tsk, congratulations kid, you've got S-rank clear rewards galore, and a beautiful advisor is waiting for you."
Lin Feng rubbed the orange cat's head: "If it weren't for your crucial actions, Orange Brother, we wouldn't have even gotten to see the 'Lord of Laughter,' let alone an S-level reward."
After saying this, Lin Feng paused, looked at the orange cat, and a thought involuntarily popped into his mind:
Should you try to persuade this mysterious and powerful orange cat to return to the Tranquil Quadrant with you?
But on second thought, it seems unnecessary.
Due to the rules, I have no way to bring it into the next instance.
Moreover, judging from its leisurely appearance on campus, this is clearly its true home.
"Let's go, let's get out of here first." Lin Feng temporarily suppressed his thoughts and walked with the orange cat toward the dog hole on the back mountain.
As soon as they crawled out of the dog hole and returned to the relatively normal campus area, they saw the familiar cow cat squatting not far away, staring at them with its heterochromatic eyes.
Or more accurately, it was the orange cat staring at Lin Feng's shoulder.
The black and white cat's eyes were completely different from its previous indifferent attitude; they were filled with surprise, scrutiny, and even a hint of barely perceptible awe.
It hesitated for a moment before asking, "The Lord of Laughter... did you kill him? That nauseating aura of 'joy' is gone."
The orange cat lazily licked its paws, responding casually:
"Hmm, no big deal. It's just a lump, nothing compared to me."
Although the orange cat spoke casually, the black and white cat clearly understood how terrifying the "Lord of Laughter" was.
It remained silent for a few seconds, looking at the orange cat with a complicated expression, and finally whispered:
"Meow... I didn't expect you to be so amazing. I misjudged you before."
The orange cat curled its tail: "It's not too late to know now."
The black and white cat took a few steps forward and lowered its posture somewhat:
"You... are very strong, stronger than any of my kind I've ever seen."
"I... really admire you. In the future... could we keep in touch more often?"
Although his tone still carried a hint of arrogance, the underlying meaning was already clear.
Seeing this, Lin Feng couldn't help but gently poke the orange cat's plump buttocks with his finger.
The orange cat raised its head, its whiskers twitching: "Since you know how to appreciate things so well, I'll... reluctantly agree."
Lin Feng couldn't help but find it a little funny. This guy had been acting like a sycophant before, but now he was putting on airs again.
But on second thought, maintaining a slightly arrogant attitude is just right.
He suppressed a laugh and telepathically told the orange cat, "Congratulations! Looks like Brother Orange will soon be tainted by the sweet and sour smell of love!"
The orange cat gave him a "mind your own business" look, but the happy wag of its tail tip betrayed its good mood.
Lin Feng gently placed the orange cat on the ground: "Then I won't bother you any longer. Until we meet again."
He waved to the orange cat.
The orange cat stared at Lin Feng, wagged its tail, and suddenly spoke up: "Hey kid, watch out, don't die!"
Lin Feng gave an "OK" sign, turned around, and walked away.
His first thought was to go find Su Wan, but after glancing at the time, he gave up.
"Let's do it tomorrow."
The continuous high-intensity combat and mental battles, even with the reward recovery, still left a deep sense of exhaustion seeping into one's bones.
He decided to go back to his dormitory and get some rest.
So Lin Feng put his hands in his pockets and walked alone toward the boys' dormitory.
When I arrived at the dormitory gate, I found that the gate was locked.
He took a few steps back, took a short run-up, lightly used his toes to gain leverage on the wall, pushed off with his arms, and cleanly and neatly flipped over, landing almost silently.
The effects of the two physical fitness improvements were truly amazing!
As Lin Feng passed by the dormitory administrator's room downstairs, he noticed that the light in Uncle Wang's room was off, and he could hear even snoring coming from inside.
He tiptoed upstairs quietly and arrived at the door of dormitory 404.
I unlocked the door with the key, gently pushed it open, and with the faint light coming in from the window, I could see that Ichiro Sato was fast asleep in bed.
Without disturbing him, Lin Feng tiptoed to his bed, took off his coat, and lay down.
As his body touched the familiar bed, his tense nerves finally relaxed completely, and a strong sense of drowsiness overwhelmed him, and he quickly fell into a deep sleep.
........................
Early the next morning.
Ichiro Sato woke up groggily and rubbed his eyes.
When he saw Lin Feng lying there peacefully asleep, his eyes widened instantly.
"Lin...Lin-kun?!" Sato Ichiro exclaimed, his voice trembling with surprise.
After all, the only way to fight against laughter is to either succeed or fail. If you succeed, you leave school; if you fail, you're eliminated immediately. You wouldn't necessarily end up back in the dorm...
