Chapter 6: Ch 6: Magus
Chapter 6: Ch 6: Magus
The paper was a letter that was written by the founder of the Souran family, Jonus Souran and it was addressed to his future descendants.None of his own children at the time of his death were eligible to receive it and that was why he had hoped that someone eligible to receive it would be born in the future.
The most important thing that Weiss had learnt from this letter was the existence of legendary "Magi".o have the qualities needed to become a magus but as he himself had these qualities, no matter how bad it was, someone else also having it in the future was not an impossibility.
The chest that Weiss had opened was actually a special magical item that could only be opened by a person who had the talent needed to become a magus.
So far in the Souran family, no one had this talent. Even if someone had, they had not managed to get their hands on this magical chest.
But with Weiss being able to open it, the Souran family finally had a second person after the founder who could also walk the path of becoming a magus.
...
Weiss was very excited after learning about the existence of the magus. This was the most amount of excitement that she had ever felt after her birth. This new truth had changed her whole outlook on this world.
Other than a brief description of his life history and a little bit about the magus and their world, the letter of Jonus Souran did not have anything else written on it.
But he had mentioned that there was a small notebook in the chest too where he had noted down several important things that his eligible future descendant would need to know if they wanted to pursue the path of a magus.
Weiss was unable to wait and immediately started searching the chest to find that notebook. Finally at the very bottom, she managed to find it.
This book had a red cover and the title of the book "Records of the Magus World by apprentice Jonus Souran" was written on it with golden ink.
Even though the notebook itself did not look very large, the amount of information that Weiss found in it was a lot.
Actually this notebook was enchanted with a very simple magic which could enlarge the front size of the letters written in it for the readers.
That way as the actual letters were small and took very little space in the notebook, this notebook had managed to record a lot of things.
When Weiss was done briefly checking the whole notebook, it was already dawn. Even with her extremely fast reading speed, Weiss needed several hours to finish reading it. And she was not even reading everything thoroughly.
She was planning to take her time to carefully read this notebook in the future. But even with this quick read, all the information that she had gained from it were extremely valuable and fantastical.
The information that Weiss cared about the most was to find a way to become a magus herself. There were several methods mentioned in the notebook but currently she was unable to utilise any of them.
According to Jonus Souran, this world where Weiss currently was, was a world that had very little, almost null amount of mana. That was reason why magi did not value this world very much.
If Weiss was in a different world, there would have been more and easier opportunities for her to come in contact with the magus world.
But unfortunately, Weiss would need both luck and effort if she wanted to become a magus here in this world. As this was a world with very little magic, many common opportunities like the general recruitment of apprentice would not be available to her.
Jonus had mentioned three methods to get in touch with the magus world in the notebook. The first method was to find a spatial node that was connected to a world with more mana.
In that different world, one would have a much easier time finding ways to get in contact with the magus world. It was quite a straight forward solution.
But the only spatial node that Jonus was aware of was located in a very dangerous area. Even he, with his strength of a mid level apprentice magus would be in danger there.
So only a high level apprentice or a grand knight would be able to explore that place with the fear of suddenly dying.
The second method was to find a native magus family who still had a connection with Archana, the world which was the centre for the magi civilization.
